Items can be returned at all three University Library locations.
Self-service returns at the Grifflenberg Campus
Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Circulation desks at the Grifflenberg, Haspel and Freudenberg locations

Book Return Slot
Outside the circulation desk's opening hours at the Grifflenberg Campus, books can also be returned using the book return slot at the University's main entrance. The book return slot is emptied at 9 a.m. from Monday to Friday. The date of return is the last day the circulation desk was open before the slot was emptied.
The book return slot is accessible during the following times:
Monday to Friday: 8 p.m. to 9 a.m.
At weekends and on public holidays: all day
Returns made before 9 a.m. are processed on the same day.
Returns made after 8 p.m., on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays are processed on the next service day.
Alternatively, you can still return items by post.
If you exceed the loan period, you have to pay overdue fines up to 20 Euro for each item.
Return by Post
You can also return books to the library by post at your own risk. Please include your name and library card number and send the books to:
