Campus Grifflenberg:
Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Self-lending/return stations
Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Campus Haspel: Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Campus Freudenberg: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Book Drop-off System

Outside the opening hours of the circulation desk at the Grifflenberg Campus, books can also be returned via the book drop-off system at the university’s main entrance. The book drop-off is emptied at 9 am from Monday to Friday. The return date is deemed to be the last day on which the circulation desk is open before the drop-off is emptied. 

The book drop is open:

    Monday to Friday, 9 pm – 9 am
    Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays

    until 9 am: returns are processed on the same day,
    after 8 pm / Saturdays / Sundays / public holidays: returns are processed on the next service day.

Alternatively, you can still return items by post.

If you exceed the loan period, you have to pay overdue fines up to 20 Euro for each item.

Return by mail

You have the possibility to return books to the library by mail at your own risk.
Please send the books by mail, stating your name and library card number, to
