Library Card
You need a physical library card to borrow library materials, to log in to your library account in person, and to obtain a digital library card.
A library card is not required to use the electronic resources.
How do I get a library card?
Apply for your library card using one of the application forms on this page.
After you submit the form, we will send you an email as soon as your card has been issued and is ready for collection. You will usually receive this notification within 1 to 3 business days.

Lost Library Card
If you lose your library card, please notify the library's circulation desk immediately by calling +49 202 439-2704 or by emailing the circulation desk.
Until you report the loss, you are responsible for all materials borrowed using the lost library card.
Replacement Library Card
If your library card is lost, a replacement card can be issued for a fee of €10.00.
